Businesses owe money to companies just like everyone else. They owe money for the office supplies they use during the year and for other services that are utilized. When the business is behind on the payments they make, a business collection agency may become involved. The collection agency would only get involved in the amount owed if it reaches a certain amount, normally about $10,000. When the collection agency is called in, they will generally send a letter to the business to remind them that they owe money on an account. If the business does not pay after about 30 days, the business collection agency will take further action to get the money owed.
